Adult Code of Conduct

Who This Covers

This code applies to teachers, parents, guardians, group leaders, assistants, volunteers, venue staff, and other adults participating in a Nabo class or using Nabo communication. Every adult shares responsibility for children’s safety, dignity, privacy, and right to learn.

Supervision and Visibility

• Follow the supervision, drop-off, pickup, attendance, and emergency plan stated for the class.
• Avoid isolated one-to-one situations with a child; use observable, interruptible spaces and involve another authorized adult whenever practical.
• Release a child only according to the guardian-approved pickup plan.
• Never use corporal punishment, humiliation, threats, coercion, hazing, restraint except to prevent imminent harm, or sexualized behavior.

Physical and Digital Boundaries

• Use only necessary, age-appropriate physical contact and respect a child’s request for space.
• Communicate with the responsible adult through Nabo, not privately with a child.
• Do not ask a child to keep secrets from a parent or guardian.
• Do not transport a learner unless transportation was explicitly disclosed, legally permitted, appropriately insured, and separately authorized by the guardian.

Privacy, Photos, and Health Information

• Access learner, contact, address, and medical information only when needed for the class.
• Do not copy, retain, or use participant information for unrelated purposes.
• Obtain guardian permission before photographing, recording, publishing, or identifying a child.
• Follow disclosed allergy and emergency instructions within your training; do not represent yourself as a medical provider unless qualified.

Teacher Responsibilities

Teachers must keep their identity, profile photo, screening information, credentials, insurance response, class plan, venue risks, capacity, and contact information accurate. Notify Nabo promptly of a material change that could affect eligibility or child safety. Never imply that a Nabo approval or badge guarantees performance or safety.

Reporting and Emergencies

For immediate danger or suspected abuse, contact 911 or the appropriate child-protection or law-enforcement authority first, then notify Nabo through the Support page. Preserve relevant messages and facts without conducting your own investigation or confronting a child about a disclosure.

Enforcement

Nabo may pause a class or listing, restrict communication, remove teacher approval, suspend an account, preserve relevant records, or contact appropriate authorities. Legal reporting duties may apply independently of this code.
