Safety Approach

Pre-launch draft · Updated September 15, 2026

Layered Safety

Nabo uses multiple safeguards rather than relying on one badge or check. These include adult-only accounts, teacher profile review, background-screening status, clear class details, private addresses, participant messaging, attendance records, community rules, and a way to report concerns. No screening or marketplace can eliminate all risk.

Teacher Review

A teacher can build and privately preview a profile while review is pending, but the profile is not publicly available and classes cannot be published until required approval and background-screening status are current. Teacher profile photos publish automatically when uploaded and may be removed if they violate Nabo policies. Credentials are self-reported unless expressly marked verified. Screening results are point-in-time information and are not a guarantee.

Child and Family Privacy

Children do not have sign-in accounts or direct message access. Guardian-managed profiles provide only the information needed to match and safely conduct a class. Birthdates stay private, sensitive notes are restricted, and private class addresses are revealed only to the relevant adult after a confirmed, paid booking.

Class Information and Communication

Listings should clearly state the instructor, age range, schedule, capacity, general area, materials, what to bring, and supervision expectations. Nabo messages keep class communication between adults and tied to the relevant class. Families should confirm drop-off, pickup, accessibility, allergy, and emergency expectations before attendance.

Adult Conduct

All adults must follow the Adult Code of Conduct, including appropriate boundaries, visible supervision, guardian-controlled communication, photo consent, privacy, and safe pickup practices. Families and group leaders remain responsible for choosing classes appropriate for their learners and reviewing the information available to them.

Report a Concern

Use the Support page to report inappropriate messages, unsafe behavior, privacy concerns, inaccurate listings, suspected fraud, or possible policy violations. Include the class, date, people involved, and relevant messages without emailing unnecessary medical, identity, or payment information. Nabo may pause activity while a report is reviewed.

Emergencies and Suspected Abuse

Nabo support is not an emergency service. For immediate danger, call 911. For suspected child abuse or neglect, contact the appropriate local child-protection or law-enforcement authority as required, then notify Nabo so platform access and records can be addressed.

Continuous Review

Before launch, Nabo must finalize its screening provider, renewal interval, incident-response procedures, insurance requirements, reporting escalation, staff access controls, and retention schedule. Safety controls and policy language will be reviewed as the marketplace changes.
